The ideal candidate directly supports the Director of Safety and promotes the organization’s established safety and culture initiatives through effective training delivery and leadership.
OUR COMPANY OFFERS GREAT BENEFITS, INCLUDING: Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) Opportunity for advancement Medical, Dental, Vision, & Retirement Benefits Employee Purchase Discounts of 30% or more KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide all lift operator training, evaluations, and certifications Provides Initial and on-going driver training in pre-trip inspections, Smith System Defensive driving techniques and advanced backing, crash procedures and hours of service Provides First Aid and CPR training as necessary Conducts yearly driver evaluations or as necessary.
Provides training in appropriate load securement and load balance May conduct training on other machinery as required or as available Will assist in Emergency Action Plan Drills annual at various locations Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: High School Graduate/GED 3-5 years of training experience in a safety related field 5-7 experience in operation of straight trucks, articulated commercial trucks, various classification of machinery and lift Knowledge of federal rules and regulations regarding training of drivers and general industrial personnel Knowledge of Smith System Driving Principles and currently hold Smith System Driver Trainer Certification Current NSC Trainer Certification to include OSHA Requires CDL A/B Knowledge of First Aid and CPR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The physical activities of this position may include speaking, sitting, standing, climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion.
Must have good balance and coordination.
The physical requirements of this position are: heavy work
– must be able to lift 50 lbs or more with assistance.
Ability to maintain heavy physical activity during shift.
Frequent travel up to 50% or more is required in this role.
