The experienced operator will be comfortable with various racking systems, and always operates in a safe and efficient manner. We are growing and need talented team players to join us POSITION DETAIL Forklift Operators are responsible for operating and managing industrial trucks to load and unload materials and deliveries and move them to and from storage areas, machines and loading docks, into trucks, railroad cars, or storage facilities. Forklift operators may perform their duties in manufacturing, warehouse, and loading dock environments. Responsibilities: Unload and load products and production materials Identify damages Report shortages Report quality deficiencies Break down and build up pallets of product Transport raw materials to production workstations Inspect machinery Determine the need for repairs Keep updated records of inventory Produce activity logs Comply with company policies and guidelines Operate equipment in compliance with all safety standards and procedures Assist in keeping a safe environment Skills and Abilities : Proficiency operating industrial forklift Proficiency with various racking systems Knowledge of industrial equipment and production procedures Adherence to health and safety regulations Ability to multi-task Attention to detail Teamwork and communication skills Analytical and numerical skills Ability to follow written and oral instructions Physical stamina, strength, and ability to operate tools and machinery Must be at least 18 years old Must pass pre-employment drug screening Must pass pre-employment background check (TWIC credentialing standards apply) Work Environment This job operates in a non-temperature-controlled industrial plant environment. These conditions can vary from hot and cold extremes. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving production machinery and vibration. Moderate noise can be expected from forklifts, machinery, trains and trucks. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. Regular work will be performed near other workers and production machinery. Physical Requirements Prolonged periods of standing and walking up to 8 – 10 hours per day Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery Must be able to visually inspect machines Must be able to lift and carry up to 40 pounds at chest height Visit our Career Center to see all current openings.
