Director of Quality, Construction

Borrego is seeking a Director of Quality to join our growing team! The Director of Quality is responsible for managing the quality of large commercial and small utility scale solar project installations.

About the Role
Position responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Direct ownership of Borrego quality standards, expectations, and deliverables, including creation, implementation and continuous improvement of Borrego EPCs Quality Management System and Program in cooperation with all stakeholders
Direct ownership of base quality standards and expectations from our suppliers and vendors
Direct responsibility for the effective administration of the Quality Program
Provide detailed and accurate reporting on quality metrics and deliverables as deemed necessary by the executive team and divisional leadership
Manage a staff of divisional Quality Management employees and third-party resources
Develop, onboard, and manage outsourced quality management partners
Develop, implement and manage a continuous improvement program utilizing the Borrego System of Excellence, six sigma and LEAN concepts
Facilitate Lean Kaizen events, PDCA, root cause analysis, countermeasure development and process improvement across the EPC business unit
Provides Quality leadership for the EPC business unit
Promote quality and continuous improvement across the organization
Direct the development of quality performance measures that support the company’s strategic direction
Establish, maintain, and improve the Quality Teams operational best practices, controls, systems, etc.
Coordinate and collaborate with other departments to create a strong foundation for quality and maintain a consistent, company-wide approach to QA/QC
Maintain in-depth relations with all levels of the management team
Promote and communicate the Quality Management Plan and all associated policies and procedure
Serve as an instructor/facilitator of quality, lean and continuous improvement training
Perform other duties as assigned
While no one individual will possess them all, the successful candidate will bring many of the following experiences, skills, and attributes:
Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in quality, business, construction, science, engineering or related major preferred
Requires a minimum of (10) years of construction experience with (5) of those years being in quality engineering and/or continuous improvement in progressing roles of management responsibility; or (8) years of Construction Management experience
Six Sigma and/or LEAN experience preferred
Excitement about growing along with a fast-paced, dynamic company; comfort with ambiguity and a willingness to build, experiment, and iterate when the path forward is undefined
A passion for renewable energy, addressing the climate crisis, and accelerating the clean energy transformation
