A successful candidate for this position will be assigned to the DACM contract with the Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) Facilities Maintenance & Operations Program.

Salary Range:                        Salary range of $105,000 to $111,000 a year based on experience,

 

 

Overall Functions:

 

These positions will be as part of the LAUSD facilities renovation, operations, and maintenance program. These positions will be based at one of the LAUSD maintenance facilities.

 

Multiple positions are available in each of the following classifications:

 

Carpenters Two (2)

 HVAC Technicians Five (5)

 Electricians Three (3)

 Plumbers Two (2)

 Reg 4 Specialist One (1)

 Roofer One (1)

 Hand Grader (Asphalt Paver) One (1)

 

Functions and Responsibilities:

1. Identify and collect building component data on systems installed at District sites.

2. Use various computer formats to enter data (e.g., Tablets, laptops, Smartphones, etc.)

3. Use knowledge and experience in building construction to identify building systems that are hidden behind walls, ceilings and floors.

4. Assess the overall condition and remaining service life of building system components based on construction experience and knowledge. Apply direction and guidance on determining Remaining Service Life (RSL) Values specific to LAUSD from FCA Unit leadership.

5. Work collaboratively with other trade surveyors to gather quantities, measurements, boilerplate information, etc., as needed and directed.

6. Conduct / support ad hoc surveys related to District sites and buildings on an as needed basis.

7. Provide assistance to engineering staff relative to existing system capabilities, operation, and condition.

8. May supervise the performance of staff and survey participants as needed; serve as a resource to staff.

 

Job Requirements:

 

Minimum Requirements:

Education / Experience

1. Graduation from a recognized college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, or construction management.

2. Candidates without a bachelor’s degree must have at least 10 years of full time directly related experience.

3. Six (6) or more of the years must be working on-site as part of a construction management team as well as with campus administrators, faculty, and staff.

3.  The emphases of experience should be on maintenance and renovation of existing facilities rather than new facility construction.

 

Preferred Experience

Strongly prefer experience working on educational facilities, institutional facilities, public facilities, or with DSA experience.
