Role description:

Arcadis is currently seeking a Construction Claims Analyst to join our Contract Solutions team in our Places business unit in Southern California (preference for Los Angeles or Orange County).

Construction Claims Analysts are responsible for the complex review and analysis of project documentation and schedules, and the generation of reports and presentations for internal and client meetings. You will be proficient in analyzing schedules.

Central to the success of this role is a deep understanding of project scheduling and commercial construction work, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and knowledge of contractor means and methods on a variety of different types of jobs (i.e., transportation, water & wastewater treatment, buildings, power, etc.).

Role accountabilities:

Analyze or prepare complex construction delay/disruption/acceleration and cost claims, with responsibility for the entire assignment on smaller claims, or acting as a lead on larger claims.
Prepare reports, present findings to clients and assist in claim negotiations with opposing parties.
Perform construction schedule reviews for ongoing projects and provide opinions, advice and reports on project progress and forecasts.
Read contract language, determine proper interpretation, and apply to facts.
Manage assignments and deliver profitable results within planned budget.
Support and execute business development strategies to identify and deliver construction claims opportunities and engagements.
Establish and maintain professional business relations with clients.
Interface effectively with clients, coworkers, and others.

Qualifications & Experience:

Key Attributes:

Knowledge and ability to quickly understand construction contracts, and principals of contractor means and methods.
Experience on large, complex construction projects
Exceptional written and verbal communications and organizational skills.
Self-motivated achiever.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Management, Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Architecture, Legal or related degree.
5 years of experience in project controls, delay analysis, productivity analysis, and the resolution of claims and disputes.
Experience in project management, CPM scheduling, and/or contract change management.

referred Qualifications:

At least one relevant professional license or certification (PE, CCM, PMP, PSP, AIA) is preferred.

The salary range for this position is $81,420 – 122,130 / year.
