The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seekingto hire a full-time Senior Administrative Analyst to join the Department ofPsychiatry and Bio-behavioral Sciences. You will oversee all activities and projectsof the Research Center. Primary duties include:
- Managing federal, state, and private contract and grants
- Assisting in preparation of grant proposals and budgets
- Consulting with PI’s regarding policies and procedures
- Performing financial management and budget projects of payroll/personnel, ordering, and travel
- Serving as Center liaison to other University Departments
- Under the supervision of the Center Director, oversee all activities, project and staff of Center which include faculty, staff and post-doctoral fellows, graduate student and academic researchers
- Manage hiring and onboarding processes for department
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
- Minimum of one year of work experience in program management
- Skill in writing concise, logical, analytical, and grammatically correct communications to convey information to management and internal and external parties.
- Problem-solving skills including the ability to analyze information, situations, policies, and procedures to evaluate and address challenging issues, and proactively research appropriate channels for solutions.
- Interpersonal and spoken communication skills
- Ability to work independently, set priorities, perform a variety of duties and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Skill with Microsoft Office software
Preferred
- Working knowledge of UCLA platforms and policies
- Knowledge of and extensive experience with contract and grants management, including grant solicitation and grant writing
- Experience preparing, managing, projecting budgets
- Knowledge of HR Staffing and Academic Personnel policies and procedures.
