As an Administrative Coordinator, Oncology Training and Development in Gaithersburg, MD you’ll play a pivotal role in channelling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives.AstraZeneca’s vision in Oncology is to help patients by redefining the cancer-treatment paradigm, with the aim of bringing new cancer medicines to patients.

A broad pipeline of next-generation medicines is focused principally on five disease areas
– Breast, Lung, Gastrointestinal, Gynaecological/Genitourinary and Haematological cancers.

As well as other tumour types, these are being targeted through six key platforms
– DNA Damage Response (DDR), Antibody drug conjugates, Immuno-oncology (IO), Epigenetics, Tumour Drivers Resistance, and Cell Therapy, all underpinned by personalized healthcare and biomarker technologies.The Administrative Coordinator, Oncology Training and Development (OTD)is responsible for providing basic administrative support functions to Leader of OTD as well as broader department support to managers and trainers.

Tasks may include project management of functional activities, representing the Leader in communication/ responses to different stakeholders, updating budgets, tracking purchase orders and invoices, booking meetings, maintaining documentation, and ordering supplies and other resources.

Additionally, the Administrative Coordinator, Oncology Training and Development will coordinate the calendar of the Leader to handle conflicting needs.

Tracks, administers, and reports on budgets for each training tumour team, including the functional training budget.

Accurately transcribes, types, formats, and proofreads a wide variety of material (for example correspondence, invoices, contracts, meeting minutes, reports, speeches, and presentations) using word processing, presentation, graphics and spreadsheet software.

Uses desktop publishing software to design more complex documents to support the work of the department they support.

Provides specialist project based administrative support when required.

Organizes travel and expense reconciliation for the Leader.

Coordinates internal and external meetings / conferences so that they run smoothly, including scheduling meeting times, creating agendas, and ensuring that various meeting amenities are available.

Performs other administrative tasks using independent judgment and discretion.

Prepares documents, presentation materials and distributes to required stakeholders.

Plans, organizes, and schedules own workload through system maintenance so that all activities are completed accurately and on time.
