Administrative Assistant-Worcester County Jail

Overview: Starting rate $23/hour The Administrative Assistant will provide overall administrative support to the Mental Health team at Worcester Jail and House of Corrections.

The Administrative Assistant is responsible for maintaining psychiatry schedules, data entry, faxing and providing clerical support to the department staff.

They will also be responsible for obtaining, inputting, and tracking data for the medication for opioid use disorder program.

In Home Therapy is an intensive family therapy program, providing support and interventions to children and their families facing a wide range of challenges.

Minimum Education Required: High School Diploma/GED Responsibilities: Assist mental health staff with faxing, obtaining, and filing mental health records.

Oversee scheduling of psychiatry appointments.Verify medications in conjunction with the psychiatric nurse.Assist program coordinator in obtaining and tracking data for individuals in the Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) program.Input data for the medication for opioid use disorder program as required by DPH and other accrediting bodies.Attend and actively participate in supervision and staff meetings.Attend trainings as assigned.Perform all duties in accordance with the agency’s policies and procedures.

Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED and current certification as a medical assistant preferred.Strongly prefer that a candidate will have a demonstrated understanding of and competence in serving culturally diverse populations.Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.Must have the ability to obtain security clearance to enter the jail.Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.Must have knowledge of office procedures and equipment.Must have exceptional organizational skills and ability to multitask in busy environment.
