POSITION SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Provide general Transportation Department administrative and clerical assistance to Global Transportation Operations Export and Import Operations. On a regular basis, exchanges information, provides support, and interacts with Transportation Management, Transportation Analysts, and Import Analysts.

DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Assist Transportation and Import Analysts in preparation of documentation required for international shipping (invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin, SLIs, EEIs)
Assists as needed in communications with carriers and Customs Brokers. This includes scheduling of pick-ups with local and interstate trucking companies.
Assist with the processing of freight bills for approval and remittance to Accounts Payable.
Assist in creating and maintaining all shipment files.
Process small packages and envelopes sent via express courier services, utilizing carrier computer systems.
Maintain data entry for Transportation systems in Transportation Management System (TMS), Transportation Activity Report (TARS), Transportation Management Portal (TMP) and Oracle.
Receive, sort, file, and request Certificates of Analysis.
Miscellaneous clerical and administrative support for all levels within the department as needed.

Skills:
Required
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under general supervision
Ability to organize workload for effective implementation
Strong customer and results orientation
Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural diversity
Ability to function as an effective team member
Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves

Experience:
Required
Minimum 2 years office experience (typing memos, copying, filing, scheduling appointments, making travel arrangements, maintaining Excel spreadsheets, etc.)

Education:
Required
High School Graduate or equivalent
