ResponsibilitiesAspart of a team, provide administrative support for the patient care activitiesof two or more Ophthalmologists and Optometrists including answering patientcare telephones, scheduling patient appointments, obtaining managed carepre-authorizations for services, maintaining patient records and preparingpatient billing.QualificationsThe following are required:Two years’ experience working in a medicaloffice including answering telephones, interacting with patients andfamiliarity with current billing practices including governmental plansOne year of experience schedulingpatient appointments in computerized appointment scheduling systemExcellent interpersonal skills whichpromote pleasant and effective communications with patients, staff anddoctorsExcellent verbal and writtencommunication skillsExcellent punctuality anddependabilityExcellent skills in basic officesoftware and equipment including but not limited to Microsoft Outlook, Word,Excel, and PowerPoint, fax, email, copying, scanning, copy/paste,organization and extreme attention to detailAbility to interact calmly andeffectively with patients with difficult personalitiesPreferred:Experience registering patients inEpic/CareConnect systemExperience working in a teachingenvironmentExperience working in anOphthalmology practiceUCLA is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action employer.
