Zio Studio Services: Staff Accountant

Job OverviewThe Staff Accountant is responsible to maintain accurate and current company accounting and financial records by using sound, accurate, and efficient and procedures on a regular and recurring schedule.

The Staff Accountant will process bi-weekly payroll and reconciliation of general ledger accounts related to payroll.

The employer pays 70% for:MedicalDentalVisionESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONSPrepares payroll reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and nontaxable wages.Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.Provides payroll information by answering questions and requests.Implements payroll audit regularly, including but not limited to timecards, employee status, pay rates, benefit deductions, tax withholdings.Updates payroll records by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, savings deductions, and job titles, and department/ division transfers.Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.Manage monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables in compliance with GAAP timelyAssist in preparing monthly consolidated P& L and Balance sheet fluxanalysis for management reportingCoordinate Balance Sheet account reconciliation monthlyProvide financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting dataSubstantiate financial transactions by auditing documentsMaintain capital lease, note payable, depreciation scheduleSupport and oversee accounting clerical staff (Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable) asnecessaryReconcile financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account informationAssist assistant controller with annual audit, Ad-hoc tasks, and special projects, as neededMaintain financial security by following internal controlsComply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirementsQUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s degree in accounting, or financeMinimum 4-7 years experience in accounting/finance2+ years of payroll experienceExperience with financial reporting requirementsProficient with QuickBooks and Microsoft ExcelStrict attention to detail, highly organized, and efficient
