VP GTM Finance

As Company continues to build Finance capabilities that accelerate growth and optimize value, we are looking for a VP of Finance for our GTM organization. In this role you will be the senior finance business partner to our Chief Revenue Officer and his GTM leadership team. The role is responsible for providing financial insights and analytics to aid decision making, partnering with the business on strategy and execution to enable and accelerate long term growth for Company, and bringing understanding and predictability to Company’s top line financials. The ideal candidate is a self-starter, strategic thinker, excellent communicator, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. The VP of GTM Finance will help develop and drive our GTM strategy, lead the long-range planning and annual budgeting processes, as well as reporting and data analysis efforts to provide insights to your business partners. Reporting to the SVP of Finance, this role is highly visible and will interact frequently with the CFO, CRO, and other C-Level executives. 

Roles and Responsibility (list in order of importance)  

  • Be the Finance Business Partner to the GTM team, leading strategic and financial planning processes, including quota setting, opex planning, and headcount
  • Serve as a thought leader in shaping the financial framework for Company’s GTM organizations 
  • Manage both the top and bottom lines for our GTM business. Partner with Sales Ops leadership to ensure financial models reflect the GTM strategies, margin targets, and investment priorities across the GTM organization
  • Partner with our Product and GTM organizations on pricing and packaging initiatives, ensuring they meet the financial needs of our business
  • Refine and improve processes to enable growth and scale
  • Develop consistent productivity frameworks, with a data driven approach, to drive decision making on resource investments by segment and/or geography with recommendations to enhance productivity and accelerate growth
  • Establish key business metrics and KPIs to measure performance of the business, while proactively highlighting areas of risks and opportunity
  • Partner with the business to develop a long-range planning model that supports the strategic vision of growing sales, aligned to overall GTM and company priorities
  • Partner with Sales Comp and other operations teams to ensure appropriate sensitivity analysis and cost frameworks are in place, to achieve top line goals, and manage bottom line expenses
  • Provide support to sales and deal pricing, as needed, to ensure financial and commercial optimization when negotiating strategic deals
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly analysis and reporting of business financial results including KPI reporting, QBRs, and other analysis key to business operations, including Expenses, ARR, Billings & GM goals
  • Partner with broader Finance team to support companywide financial modeling and ad-hoc projects
  • Collaborate with Accounting to ensure accurate and efficient processes around close and financial reporting
  • Effectively hire, supervise, develop and motivate a team of 2-4.

Required Qualifications

  • Extensive experience building, developing, and leading Finance function(s) for public companies, ideally in a $500M – $1BN+ revenue company
  • Sales Finance experience at a high-growth SaaS or software company
  • Deep understanding of P&L components, unit economics, commercial functions, and common SaaS metrics
  • Proven track record of developing people, leading and managing high-performing teams
  • Strong executive leadership skills with experience partnering at the executive management levels; you are viewed as a trusted and objective advisor
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills and proven stakeholder management and influencing skills; must build collaborative working relationships with teams across the organization
  • Finance minded with strong operational focus to drive process, systems, and execution in a scalable and repeatable way
  • Strong analytical capabilities and business acumen with the ability to simplify and distill complex business information in a consumable way
  • Analytical and problem-solving mindset with a can-do attitude
  • Superior software and system skills (e.g., Adaptive Planning, Microsoft Excel) a must. SAP, SuccessFactors, Salesforce.com, Tableau and programming expertise (SQL, R, Python) experience a plus.
  • Strong customer service / success orientation and a desire to help others succeed.

Years of Experience in Related Field: 12-15 years experience in Finance and Strategy, working in high growth environments, preferably enterprise SaaS companies 

EducationBA/BS degree or equivalent experience in Finance, Accounting, Strategy or similar.  Advanced degree preferred
