VP Finance

As our first VP Finance, you will be a key member of the executive team and have the opportunity to build a finance function from the ground up. Your leadership of the finance function will be both strategic and hands-on in a high-growth, fast paced environment.

In this role, you will:

  • Provide strategic leadership in financial planning and management, ensuring the development of quarterly, annual, and long-term financial plans, budgets and forecasts.
  • Own financial planning and analysis to support evolving business strategies and growth.
  • Work closely with the executive team to form repeatable, profitable market development plans that optimize for efficient growth and execution.
  • Drive benchmarks and KPIs for measuring the financial and operating performance of the business.
  • Develop a robust and scalable analytical framework for data analysis and decision-support within the company.
  • Oversee all aspects of accounting, including transitioning our accounting in-house, building the accounting infrastructure for accurate reporting and analysis, implementing systems, and hiring a team as needed.
  • Provide in-depth financial modeling and analysis for a wide range of initiatives including strategic product decisions, recommendations on pricing, marketing spend and efficiency, and more.
  • Implement and utilize the appropriate financial systems, tools and resources required to support all of the financial planning, management and reporting needs of the business.
  • Oversee business risk management including business insurance, corporate filings & tax compliance, and other external vendors.
  • Manage our compensation planning and documentation.
  • Support the needs of the company as part of fundraising and financial due diligence efforts and ensure that such processes are led in an and efficient, accurate, and timely manner.
  • Lead ad-hoc projects related to investor relations, KPI measurement, growth metrics, strategic projects, etc.

Requirements

  • 5-8+ years of finance experience, including in a financial leadership capacity
  • Understanding of business metrics and processes in a consumer tech or marketplace company
  • Advanced modeling & scenario planning skills in complex business environments
  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation
  • Comfortable with large data sets and analytics
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP and financial accounting and reporting fundamentals
  • Ability to be hands-on in a fast-paced environment
