Vice President of Finance & Administration

We franchise the Closet Factory business and also operate a large Closet Factory franchise serving Los Angeles and Orange County. We are looking for a sharp, dynamic individual with strong initiative and drive to take charge of the financial-related activities of our organization, including accounting and administration.

This includes:

  • The financial management and control of the Los Angeles franchise.
  • Providing assistance to the franchisees in our network respecting their financial and operating performance, including evaluating their progress in meeting important KPI’s and offering advice and corrective action to improve their results.

You must have solid accounting knowledge and great interpersonal skills to communicate with hourly, salaried and executive personnel within the company as well as owners of Closet Factory franchises across the United States.

As one of 5 members of our top executive team you will help develop plans for the future. You must be able to identify areas of concern and develop processes and procedures to aid in our growth and the long-term health of the business.

Although the position is at the highest level within the Company, it is also a hands-on opportunity.

Your areas of functional responsibility include:

  • Financial Management and Accounting
  • Management Systems
  • Human Resources (HR)
  • Information Technology
  • Franchise Network Compliance
  • Franchise Support
  • Vendor Negotiations

Your duties include:

  • Maintain and improve the accounting system
  • Manage the preparation of all required internal and external reporting including financial statements and tax returns
  • Prepare financial analysis of results and analyze their impact on the achievement of enterprise objectives and goals
  • Develop new systems to manage our manufacturing operations
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement and enforce policies and procedures of the organization by way of systems that improve overall operation and effectiveness
  • Safeguard company assets by creating and maintaining sound internal control systems
  • Review, develop, document and enforce HR policies
  • Develop and maintain effective systems to record and control all aspects of timekeeping and ensure compliance with applicable law
  • Oversee and direct accounting staff and manage human resource functions
  • Franchise Royalty collections

The following are the requirements you must meet to qualify for the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance. MBA preferred but not required
  • Minimum 10+ years experience in finance and/or accounting
  • Must have 5+ years in a leadership position
  • Full knowledge of QuickBooks
  • Excellence in MS Office Software especially Excel
  • Experience in developing and implementing management systems
  • Skill in strategic thinking and strategic plan development.
  • Problem solving and analysis experience
  • Salesforce experience is desirable but not required
