Position Description

Sensei is seeking a Technical Accountant to join our growing Accounting & Finance team.  In this role, they will play a critically impactful and strategic role in helping Sensei achieve our goals in a time of dynamic growth.   They will lead the development of core Technical Accounting practices, providing strategic guidance on new Accounting scenarios and complex transactions. They will report to the Accounting Manager. The ideal candidate will have effective communication skills, a passion for growth and learning and thrives in a highly collaborative work place.

Responsibilities

  • Update and maintain the Company’s accounting policies; prepare technical accounting memos
  • Manage the preparation of internal and external monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting
  • Develop and maintain effective and adequate internal controls
  • Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities
  • Suggest and implement improvements to accounting processes
  • Assist in preparing materials for audits and tax filing as needed
  • Ad hoc projects, analysis and reporting as needed

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and 7+ years of experience
  • Experience with accounting software
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, IFRS, SOX/internal controls and SEC rules/regulations, including ability to research accounting literature, suggest a position and develop procedures for implementation
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP to IFRS differences
  • Experience in preparing note disclosures and tables.
  • Experience of dealing with foreign currency and intercompany transactions as it relates to legal entity, segment and consolidated reporting.

Preferred Skills, Abilities, And Qualifications

  • Experience with Netsuite, Famous Accounting Software, Zenefits, Tipalti, Expensify, TeamPay
  • Big 4 accounting experience
  • Experience with software implementation
