The role is responsible for providing strategic recommendations to prevent overspending and increase efficiency across all departments to drive more revenues as well as complying with all federal, state, and local protocols including legal requirements, and interpreting new and existing legislation.(br((br((strong(About You(br((br((/strong(You have strong knowledge of month-end close, accounts payable, payroll, and accounting processes/controls.

Visit workwithopal.com to learn why Opal is used by teams everywhere including Starbucks, Target, Minted, General Motors, Microsoft and Zillow.(br((br((strong(Requirements(br((br((/strong((strong(Responsibilities(br((/strong((ul((li(Manage accounts payable and the payroll process.(/li((li(Responsible for financial close process from general ledger transactions through preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.(/li((li(Report directly to Opal’s Controller and have the opportunity to interact with other departments across the Company as a representative of our Finance team.(/li((li(Have the freedom to utilize your technical accounting knowledge, analytical skills, and understanding of financial systems to help develop and implement innovative solutions and process improvements.(/li((li(Work directly with auditors and tax accountants, including significant involvement during year end audit and tax engagements.(/li((li(Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements, fluctuation analysis and management reporting.(/li((li(Exercise independent judgment and autonomy when executing on individual projects or initiatives.(/li((li(Contribute to other Finance team initiatives including cash flow forecasting, ad hoc reporting / forecasting and implementation of new tools.(/li((li(Adapt to new tasks and responsibilities as the business grows and changes.(br((br((/li((/ul((strong(Skills, Experience, Knowledge:(br((/strong((ul((li(2+ years of experience in Accounting and/or Finance, SaaS experience preferred.(/li((li(Big 4 public accounting experience and CPA a plus.(/li((li(Advanced knowledge of US GAAP.(/li((li(Netsuite experience is a plus.(/li((li(Ability to thrive in a fast-growing environment where change is the norm.(/li((li(Experience working with employees at all levels, as well as working with customers and outside vendors.(/li((li(Excellent written and verbal communication skills.(/li((li(Skilled at time and project management with the ability to move between priorities and manage deadlines across multiple focuses.(/li((li(High attention to detail.(/li((li(Natural alignment with Opal’s Values: Professional, Intentional, Steadfast, Helpful, Creative, Passionate, and Empathetic.(/li((li(Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse communities and cultures.
