Well known non-profit organization located near downtown Los Angeles is looking for a Staff Accountant. In this position, the Staff Accountant will be responsible for handling high-volume, full-cycle accounts payable (A/P) processes – matching, invoice G/L coding, vendor management, payment reporting, 1099’s, expense analysis, weekly check runs, reimbursement, etc. The Staff Accountant will assist with preparing month-end schedules, journal entries, adjusting entries, as well as perform credit card and bank reconciliations. The Accountant will also handle accounts receivable (A/R), generate financial documents, and perform ad hoc reporting.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is extremely preferred.
- At least two years of general accounting experience – with a heavy A/P focus.
- Good systems and strong MS Office (i.e., Word, Excel, etc.) skills are important.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills are also required.
- Must have excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment is essential.
- Multi-tasking skills are critical.
