Classification: Staff Accountant
Compensation: $27.71 to $32.09 hourly
Robert Half is searching for a Staff Accountant for a non-profit organization. This is a long-term contract/ full time opportunity. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You’ll be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This role also involves the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets.
Your responsibilities in this role
– Participate in various initiatives spanning multiple departments
– Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
– Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
– Produce complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
– Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision
– Keep up fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
– Partake in annual closing processes
– Support implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
– Support capital lease and monthly payment schedules
– Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed
Job Requirements:
– Full knowledge of Sage Intacct accounting software highly preferred
– Knowledge of Yardi is a plus
– Knowledge of non-profit, fund-based accounting theories and practices preferred
– 2+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
– BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
