Staff Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Staff Accountant FLSA Status: Exempt Location: Los Angeles, CA Reports To: Controller INTRODUCTION Barksdale Control Products (a Crane Company) is looking for a General Accountant to join our Los Angeles based Accounting team.

The position is responsible for all areas of General Ledger activity, including account reconciliations, month end closing journals and activities, travel and expense software administration, and generation of financial reports.

In addition, position will have responsibility for monitoring and maintaining strong internal controls related to Sarbanes-Oxley and COSO framework throughout the organization.

PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES * Complete month-end accounting operations consisting of journal entries, accruals and reconciliations* Perform internal financial audits* Ensure compliance with all Sarbanes-Oxley controls and requirements* Maintain and oversee Project Expense tracking* Administer Concur Expense Link program and review / verify travel expense reports* Support internal and external annual audit activities* Plan and control capital expenditures* Maintain high level of internal control documentation* Support FP&A with annual budget and quarterly forecast initiatives CRITICAL FACTORS FOR SUCCESS * Strong work ethic and attention to detail* Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills* Intuitive knowledge of general ledger systems and financial reporting* Multi-task during short accounting close* Strong GAAP and technical accounting skills PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE / SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS * BA degree in Accounting* 1
– 4 years of experience with public accounting firm or as a General Accountant for a public enterprise.

Manufacturing experience preferred* CPA or CPA candidate (preferred)* 1
