Accountemps is looking for a Staff Accountant for a short-term temporary-to-full-time role. The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will promote the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. Based in the Playa Vista, California region, this company offers an engaging and mulit-faceted opportunity where effort is rewarded.

Responsibilities

– Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed

– Maintain monthly payment schedules

– Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments

– Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation

– Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation

– Perform month end close, journal entries with minimum supervision

– Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner

– Help with the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP

– Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting

– Participate in various department-wide initiatives

Job Requirements:
– Knowledgeable of ERP systems

– Working knowledge of spreadsheets and databases

– Demonstrated knowledge of financial analysis

– Bank Account Reconciliation experience

– Status Reports experience

– Month end closings experience desired

– Deep understanding of credit investigations

– Expertise in Credit Card Reconciliation

– Adeptness in Oracle

– Recent and relevant accounting experience

– experienced organizational, written and verbal communication skills

– Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills

– BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics

– Proficient with spreadsheets and databases

– Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

– Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines

– Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment

– Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
