About the Job:AeroVironment is looking for a team-player with strong attention to detail to take on the Staff Accountant role.
The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records, perform account reconciliations, assist with close processes, maintain accounts payable documentation, and assist with annual audit.Job Details:Assist with the day-to-day, monthly and year-end operations of the Finance Department, including, but not limited to, preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and AP aging/payments.Review and post to the general ledger the bi-weekly payroll.Ensure that all invoices and staff reimbursements are paid accurately and in accordance with Finance Policies and Procedures.Prepare monthly journal entries including, but not limited to, allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets depreciation, and recording and adjusting of reclassification journal entries, if necessary.Prepare monthly and annual reconciliations of balance sheet accounts, including but not limited to, bank accounts, credit cards, fixed assets, accounts payable, accrued expenses and prepaid expenses.Assist in establishing, implementing, maintaining and monitoring accounting control procedures and accounting policies.Help prepare financial reports and internal reports as requested.About You:Attention to detail, good organizational skills and strong analytical skills are required.Organized and manage time efficiently.Ability to work independently and well with team projects.Communicate well within the department and meet deadlines.Must be able to work with a strong sense of urgency and wear many hats.Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.Minimum 5 years with increasing responsibility in an accounting position.Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.Manufacturing experience a plus.Experience using QuickBooks a plus.Experience with government contracts a plus.Special Requirements:U.S.
