Primary Function/Primary Goals/Objectives: This position has responsibility for Plant financial reporting, budget preparation and forecasting, maintaining internal control and all records, reports and analysis whose purpose is to assist the Plant Manager and his/her staff in making sound financial decisions about the Plant Operations.

Financial counsel is also provided to the Plant Manager, via the Plant controller, in order to assist in tracking and conserving company assets under direct control.

The individual has additional responsibility to Division Operations Accounting in the form of reporting Plant variances from the Budget Plan, or LBE and projecting their impact of the Abbott Nutrition Division profit plan.

Major Responsibilities: Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system Identify and monitor effective internal control systems Ensure that the financial books are closed timely each month and that the reported results are accurate and properly supported Develop and submit supported financial Plans and LBEs for existing and new products on a timely basis Provide proactive financial support for Operations, including monthly LBE’s and financial update meetings Assist with audit details required by Plant, Division and Corporate Auditing Analysis of variances from Plan or LBE for material usage, spending and cost performance reporting Prepare weekly, monthly and YTD reports consisting of material usage, spending and manufacturing costs Produce monthly material usage, volume, spending and capacity graphs Provide monthly KPI volume and financial results Maintain the bill of material system for minimum quantities, loss rates and standard costs Provide ad hoc financial analytics to assist the Plant in business decisions Education: Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration.

Background: Knowledge of applicable regulatory standards and requirements for infant formula and nutritionals Minimum of 2 years general, cost or public accounting experience Exposure to generally accepted accounting principles and basic accounting theory Working knowledge of computer applications (i.e.: databases, budgeting systems, cost systems, general ledger, etc.) Proficient at using Microsoft Office Strong analytical, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills Work effectively under pressure in a deadline driven environment Accountability/Scope/Budget: Must take a self-initiated active role in developing variance analysis Be able to interface with all levels of Plant Management and Operations Effectively interpret and communicate financial data to cross-functional areas Will assist in all internal/external Plant financial audits, carrying out the details of the audit and preparing conclusions and recommendations Responsible for seeing that financial Operations within the Plant complies with GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley and Division/Corporate policies, procedures and guidelines Will assist the Department Managers and Supervisors in the preparation of Department Budgets
