This role is based at our Santa Fe Springs location easily accessible off of the 5 and 91 freeways. Your Role As Senior Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for applying accounting principles and procedures in assisting in the monthly Profit and Loss (P&L) closing process. This includes analyzing assigned General Ledger accounts, reviewing facility P&L statements, preparing accurate and timely financial reports, preparing account reconciliations, and supporting the Accounting Manager in carrying out the responsibilities of the accounting department. In addition, you will assist in tax filings, audit preparations, insurance and tax compliance, financial database management, validation of invoices, weekly check runs, revenue interface and all other tasks as assigned by the Controller. You will report directly to the Accounting / Financial Planning Manager and serve as a hands-on senior resource on a team including an Accountant and four AP professionals. The Requirements To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. In addition, to be a strong fit for the Senior Staff Accountant opportunity, you will have: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Note if your degree is in Finance, you must a significant accounting background 3 – 5 years of experience in accounting or finance; experience with tax filings and compliance is an advantage; the ideal candidate will have experience working in a large organization Experience with financial reporting required; background in budgeting and forecasts Knowledge of Accounting Systems; Great Plains experience is a plus Proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Access) and excellent Excel skills (If Statements, Pivots, VLOOKUP, Index and Match) Strong bottom-line orientation with excellent analytical and negotiating skills, good business instincts, and the confidence and credibility to work well with vendors, customers, and other departments Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills to work with contacts inside and outside the department If you meet the minimum qualifications we invite you to apply.
