Senior Manager Production Finance

Responsible for the fiscal management of the production accounting life cycle from development through audit for original, co-finance and acquired network programming
Oversee corporate reporting inclusive of month end close, balance sheet reconciliations; budgeting/forecasting for spend; offline schedules and year end reporting
Facilitate and manage pre-production finance and accounting inclusive of pre-funding, greenlight approval, internal project and production company set-up, budget review, production cash flow and payroll/accounting system set-up
Management review and analyze of all weekly production finance deliverables including: cost reports, overages, hot costs, ledger bibles, balance sheets, check registers, and bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy and strict policy compliance
Responsible for ensuring all network paid costs and production advances are recorded in the production balance sheet and general ledger
Manage production incentive workflow, including but not limited to applications, audits, qualified expense tracking, ensure receipt of tax credits or cash and assist with tax incentive analysis to determine the best location to capture the highest return of rebates and tax credits to the network
Coordinate desk and field audits for production cost verification and operational audits
Assist in the selection and hiring of freelance production accountants
Provide financial support to Production Management Executives by monitoring the progression of production and providing real-time resolutions for any financial issues
Actively engage with HR, Labor Relations, Corporate Accounting, Internal Audit, Global Sourcing, IT to ensure production finance policies and procedures are current and effectively implemented on our productions
Identify cost/spend trends through historical data, financial analysis and budgets
Liaise with Production Management and Global Sourcing teams to identify cost efficiencies for production cycle
Develop relationships with Film Commissioners, CPA audit firms, Accountants, Producers and Payroll Companies to build resources and networks from which to gather industry information and help ensure all production finance processes are current, reasonable and timely
Keep abreast of current and changing industry trends, evolving technologies and production incentives
Plan and perform special projects
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting
Minimum of 7 years of significant experience in production accounting in television and/or motion picture and leading a diverse team
Must have in-depth knowledge of television and motion picture finance and accounting practices
Understand state and international tax incentive laws and credits
Demonstrate ability to operate in a dynamic corporate environment and work under pressure in a positive manner
Effective at partnering with internal and external clients in order to obtain key information
Strong analytical skills mandatory to identify issues and recommend solutions
Possess organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Solid knowledge of MS Office Suite and Applications, Global Vista, PSL, Movie Magic Budgeting, SAP
