Job Description
The Senior Manager, Accounting will help shape our Finance organization by leading the accounting team and building upon the Company’s capability to capture, analyze, and package data into financial statements and actionable insights. This individual will be responsible for core financial reporting to the management team and the annual financial statement review. Along with the management team, this individual is charged with implementing and maintaining critical policies and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting of Intercare’s financial statements and ad-hoc financial reporting.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare consolidated monthly financial reporting package for both internal finance organization and management team
  • Prepare all supporting information for the annual financial statement review and consult with senior management and the external auditors as necessary to ensure clean review for both annual financial statements and Company retirement plan
  • Maintain the general ledger and lead month end close, and financial statement preparation
  • Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses.
  • Manage the Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable processes and work with accounting staff to implement best practices for AP/AR processes to improve efficiency and accuracy
  • Develop, implement, and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Support the organization’s annual financial planning cycle as well as future semi-annual / quarterly reforecast exercises
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed in timely fashion
  • Review monthly P&L, and Balance Sheet, results and support monthly/quarterly budget review meetings with department heads
  • Automate manual finance and accounting processes
  • Support in ad hoc financial analysis and market research to support various projects and key business initiatives
  • Partner with the IT organization and Finance leadership in future systems implementations or conversions, taking ownership of the organizations financial data and systems
Recommended Qualifications
  • Minimum of a B.A./B.S. ideally in a quantitative field (Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Sciences).
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licensed in California
  • 7+ years of overall professional experience in Accounting / FP&A
  • Mastery of three core financial statements and experience with detailed variance analysis
Job Skills
  • Experience holding final responsibility for preparation of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination for either a division or significant business area
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel and Power Point
  • Proficiency with accounting and financial reporting software including QuickBooks Online and enterprise reporting platforms (Ex. Oracle, SAP, Workday)
  • Technologically savvy with experience selecting and overseeing software implementations and managing relationships with software vendors
  • A successful history in setting priorities; keen analytical eye, organization and critical thinking skills which support and enable sound decision making
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders
  • A motivated multi-tasker with the ability to wear many hats in a demanding environment
  • Experience and success in managing and leading staff
