Even if you do not have Grant Accounting experience, our client will consider an Accountant who is interested in learning about this specialty accounting field.

– You will be evaluating all grants for programs to ensure that these programs qualify to receive financial aid.
The Sr.
Grants Accountant will also assist with analysis of data to determine financial sustainability of various grant programs.

nn nn n nn nn SENIOR GRANTS ACCOUNTANT TASKS nn nn Grant Accounting nn Administer and classify grants, including expenditure analysis and approval Analyze program budgets (grant expenses, revenues, and receivables) to ensure accuracy and compliance with grant requirements Deal with revenue-based grants and capital-based grants Ensure that government grants be recognized for accounting purposes when conditions of grant have been met Forecast grant financial performance Close out grants nn Compliance nn Ensure compliance with all government regulations for funding each program Support the Compliance Department on answering any questions on grants nn General Ledger Accounting nn Prepare journal entries into the general ledger (revenues and expenses) by classifying appropriate category to Participate in month and quarterly closes Prepare expense reports Submit reimbursement claims for grant-funded programs nn Miscellaneous nn Ensure compliance with grant compliance reviews and audits from external agencies Accept any other ad hoc projects nn n nn nn SENIOR GRANTS ACCOUNTANT QUALIFICATIONS nn nn Required nn Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or an equivalent major At least three (3) years of accounting experience Ability to pass a background check nn Preferred nn Previous audit experience Non-profit industry; grant accounting exposure nn n nn nn SENIOR GRANTS ACCOUNTANT SKILLS nn nn Required nn nn Technical nn Expert-level Excel proficiency (v-lookups, pivot tables, IF formulas, et.
