Job Description

The newly created Senior Financial Analyst role will be an instrumental position in our expanding Finance and Accounting Team. As the Firm continues to rapidly grow, we are looking to add a team member to help support this exciting growth. The team is focused on improving analytical insights for the Firm, driving process improvements, and increasing how we leverage automation to become more efficient. Reporting directly to the Controller, the Senior Financial Analyst’s responsibilities include assisting with financial planning including the annual budgeting process and periodic reforecasts, assisting with analyzing and reporting the monthly financial statements, developing financial models, and preparing various projections and analysis as may be required by leadership. As a senior financial analyst, you will also be expected to leverage software and/or Firm internal resources to increase the use of automation within the Finance and Accounting team in order to increase efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Play an integral role in the budgeting and reforecasting process, including meeting with stakeholders, analyzing budget and forecast metrics, and leveraging the Vena software tool
  • Assist with monthly close and reporting process including analyzing monthly financial results, providing variance analysis, and compiling monthly reporting package
  • Provide variance analysis on actuals versus budget and actuals versus prior year on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
  • Assist in reporting and analyzing monthly and quarterly KPIs. Continually ensure the Firm is focused on the appropriate KPIs to properly inform decisions.
  • Perform various financial analyses and create financial models in support of analyses
  • Build repeatable reports and dashboards for CFO and Firm leadership, leveraging advanced Excel skills and visualization software (PowerBI)
  • Work in collaboration with other team members to help build a cohesive team and establish awareness across the team regarding actual performance versus forecasted performance
  • Provide financial reporting and analysis to divisions monthly. Provide financial support for divisional projects as needed
  • Assist with Firm tax return preparation, industry reporting, and insurance requirements as needed
  • Willingness to cross-train across the department

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting, business, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in financial planning, analysis, and modeling
  • Strong knowledge of finance and accounting processes
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal, quantitative, writing, and communication skills
  • Team player with a positive can-do approach
  • Demonstrated history of success
  • Strong technology skills using Microsoft Office (advanced Excel skills, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook at a minimum).
  • Knowledge of creating reports and dashboards in Microsoft Power BI is a plus. If no prior experience, willingness to learn Microsoft Power BI is a must.
  • Knowledge of Vena FP&A and Workforce planning tool is a plus but not required.
  • Ability and willingness to analyze and rethink processes and automate whenever possible
  • Be organized and able to work with multiple deadlines managing a variety of projects with diverse constituencies and environments, effectively managing time and resources
  • Establish and maintain effective professional working relationships with all levels of the Firm and other team members
  • Maintain strict confidentiality; be honest, trustworthy, dependable, and flexible. Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity
  • Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analyses.
