What We Need:The Senior Accountant must possess the ability to work self-sufficiently.

They will report to the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for applying accepted accounting principles and procedures for the monthly general ledger close, balance sheet, high level ad hoc projects and income statement analysis.

The Senior Accountant will also assist with the internal and external audit, including documentation and monitoring of internal controls.

What You’ll Do:Responsible for participating in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules according to monthly close schedule.

Prepare monthly and daily GL account reconciliations.

Prepare journal entries related to the financial statements and support schedules per monthly close schedule.Assist with analyzing financial statements on a monthly basis and report on variances.

Make recommendations when discrepancies or differences in interpretations occur.Organize, file, and maintain various monthly, quarterly, and annual city/state taxes, licenses, and workers compensation liabilities.

Create and implement procedures, deadline reminder system, and possess knowledge of applicable taxes and licenses.

Analyze and reconcile intercompany accounts.Manage prepaid expenses.Manage monthly bank activity, including bank reconciliations.Enter cash activity, ADP credit/debit advices.Analyze and classify monthly FSA/Transit activity.Analyze accounts receivable and internal bookings.Research and make informed decision regarding unapplied/misapplied payments in the Accounts Receivable area.

Calculate and assess the reasonableness of monthly allowance for doubtful accounts and rebill reserves.Manage AMEX Corporate credit card program, including distributing AMEX activity information to cardholders and processing via Concur Expense Reporting.Analyze and interpret data
– i.e.

reasonableness of charges, frequency and amount of charges.

Communicate with high-level cardholders.Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual deliverables for Parent Co.Accountable for providing staff with training, answering staff questions, and resolving issues when necessary.

What You Bring:Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting Required.

CPA preferred.3
– 5 years of accounting experience.Microsoft Great Plains and Concur expense reporting experience preferred.Oracle PeopleSoft experience preferred.Excellent analytical abilities and oral/written communication skills.Demonstrate sound judgment as part of the team and in applying business practices.Proficient skills in Microsoft applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookup.Aptitude for learning other software applications necessary to complete daily tasks.Knowledge of 10 key by touch.The ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced and changing environment.Proven track record in providing superior customer service.Strong ability to resolve conflict in a professional manner.Ability to work under tight deadlines and maintain a positive mental approach under pressure.Must be able to sit/stand for long periods of time.Must be able to bend, kneel, and lift light-weight filing boxes.Visual acuity required.
