SeltzerFontaine: In-House Counsel/Compliance – Private Equity

Our client, a growing private equity firm in Los Angeles, seeks its first in-house lawyer to work closely with senior management and investment teams on a variety of projects relating to legal, business, and compliance matters.

Will work with outside counsel on transactions and ensure that policies, procedures, and practices meet regulatory requirements.

Debt finance experience, particularly with leveraged acquisition financing transactions.

Both cash flow and asset-based lending experience preferred.

Some financial analytical capabilities required.

Understanding and knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940 and the Investment Advisers Act and the requirements of a compliance and risk program.

Excellent academic credentials, strong analytical, writing, and verbal skills, as well as strong business judgment and project management skills, with the potential to be a strategic business leader.

Ability to work effectively in a team environment albeit operating as legal team of “one.”
