We foster professional and personal development and offer prospects for career advancement.Position SummaryProvide project specific accounting support to ensure projects are set up and maintained in accordance with client agreements as well as established internal policies and procedures. The Project Accountant is the front-line liaison with the client on all project related invoicing and billing procedures, as well as with the project manager regarding budgeting contract fees. Responsible for accurate project setup, facilitation and distribution of billings, as well as financial assistance to project managers and project teams. Preparation and analysis of weekly reports relating to budgets, projections, and contract billings, including resolving problems where necessary.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform a variety of complex tasks to accomplish specific project accounting requirements as outlined by client agreements, and as outlined by internal processes and procedures. Tasks include, but are not limited to:• Setup and maintenance of project budgets in accounting database with input from Project Managers.• Monitor financial progress from project initiation through closeout by tracking budgets, financial projections through analysis of financial reports. This includes advising project managers of budgets exceeded by project, phases, and/or discipline.• Ensure all required contract documentation is executed for clients and subconsultants and is entered into accounting database properly.• Monitor subconsultant budgets and submit consultant invoices for processing to Accounts Payable.• Assist Project Managers with identifying project differences in revenue projections, budgets, etc.• Processing client billing reviews and invoices monthly.• Collections contact with all clients with balances over 60 days aged.• Act as a point of contact with clients and subconsultants as necessary.• Maintenance and updating of various specific internal company reports.• Provide ad-hoc accounting reports to management team as requested.Requirements:• Degree in Business or Accounting and/or significant relevant work experience.• 3-5 years work experience in Project Accounting, Client Billing, or Contract Administration, a portion of which is experience in engineering, service, or construction industry, including knowledge of accounting principles.• Proficiency in Excel and the MS Office Suite along with prior working knowledge of integrated accounting systems such as BST, Deltek, Oracle, etc. is required.• Additional experience in Project Forecasting, Project Focus and a background in Engineering, Service or Construction industry a plus.• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.• Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.• Demonstrated self-starter capable of prioritizing work and taking initiative with minimal supervision.• Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of client relations, internal policies and procedures.• Positive attitude – capable of presenting a positive company image.• Excellent organizational skills required.We offer career advancement opportunities and an excellent compensation and benefits package that includes group medical, dental, vision, and life insurance coverage, a matching 401(k) plan, paid monthly parking, one-week yearend holiday shut-down, and an alternative work schedule 40 hours based on a 4 ½-day workweek.EEO EmployerAll qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion,sex, sexual orientation, gender, age, marital status, national origin, disability, or any other considerationmade unlawful by law.For consideration, all candidates MUST include salary requirements.NO PHONE CALLS.
