We are presently searching for a full-time Project Accountant in the Los Angeles office.
As Project Accountant, you will be responsible for routine accounting tasks for either the local office(s) or for the Corporate Finance Department.
Specific responsibilities include:
Work with PMs to properly setup and maintain projects, including contract fee, budgets and billing information.
Ensure timely and accurate job costing for labor charges, expenses, billing rates, fees and make changes and reclassifications as necessary.
Review and process project invoices consistent with contract terms and sales tax nexus.
Analyze project performance and participate in project review meetings with PMs, including identifying opportunities for additional fees.
Analyze AR retainage report to ensure the issuance of final closeout invoices.
Processes consultant invoices to reflect proper mark ups and monitors progress payment releases to consultants.
Follow up on status of client invoices to assist Regional Finance Directors with the validation of collections probability.
Process accounts payable and expense reports as necessary.
Provide additional analytical support regarding project status and performance as needed.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
Combination of Associates degree and relevant work experience accepted.
• 3+ years accounting experience
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Familiarity with professional services and/or the AEC industry.
Understanding of basic project accounting policies and procedures.
Advanced analytical and reporting skills.
Ability to prioritize and manage conflicting deadlines
Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
Prior experience with Vision / Deltek preferred.
Ability to learn new systems and processes quickly.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels and disciplines.
Working Conditions:
For the majority of the time the Project Accountant will be sitting in an office with limited physical requirements.
This may require individuals to bend, stretch, twist and reach.
The position is not subject to occupational and safety risks.
