The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA (DGSOM) seeks to hire a Principal Financial Analyst in the Financial Affairs Office.
The Financial Affairs Office supports the DGSOM organization at large and informs the school’s key strategic decisions and help overcome complex financial challenges.
The David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA (DGSOM) is comprised of 24 academic departments, 5 organized research units, and 5 interdisciplinary research centers and is the academic home to approximately 3,400 faculty and 2,900 trainees, students, and fellows.
The DGSOM employs about 8,400 staff and non-faculty academics.
The DGSOM’s annual revenue totals approximately $2.8B, its expendable net assets approximately $1.3B and its endowments and quasi endowments approximately $1.9B.
In this role, you will be a key member of the DGSOM Controller’s team within the Financial Affiars Office and will perform complex accounting functions and/or activities.
You will create new accounts, prepare and/or approve journal entries, research and resolve reconciling items and will prepare financial statements and supporting schedules according to a monthly close schedule as well as financial reports to external agencies such as the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME).
As our Financial Analyst, you will examine and analyze financial records for exceptions and unexpected trends and provides recommendations to management and will perform fiscal year-end closing activities and aid the Associate Controller and Controller with internal and external audits.
You will support new initiatives, contribute to strategy, and identify opportunities for process improvement.
