An asset management firm located in California is actively seeking a dynamic and hardworking professional to join their staff as their new Private Equity Associate.
In this role, the Private Equity Associate will focus on executing new investments (company analysis and asset due diligence) and helping to manage the existing portfolio of companies.
Responsibilities
The Private Equity Associate will:
Support the sourcing of investment opportunities with the senior team members
Build / develop US network / relationships within bankers, private equity sponsors, M&A advisors, accountants, and lawyers
Research into potential targets for direct approaches
Provide investment and commercial input to the team throughout the deal identification process
Identify key issues and risks
Lead / oversee in-house industry and company investment research for the US market
Provide assistance during the initial screening stage of an investment opportunity
Lead due diligence work streams, including equity valuation and returns analysis
Liaise and work with external advisors
Ensure appropriate due diligence is performed on investments
Participate and lead in management meetings
Liaise with external consultants, auditors and lawyers
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree
3-6 years of investment banking and/or direct private equity / buyside investing experience
Strong attention to detail
Ability to multitask
Excellent communication skills
Highly organized
Strong interpersonal skills
