Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis – Ground Operations

Responsible for supporting the CFO in all aspects of financial planning, analysis and reporting of ground operations costs and revenue.

Responsibilities

Generate accurate, timely and detailed reports and analyze ground operations revenues and costs, variance to budget
Collaborate with ground operations management to build detailed budget and presentations
Explain costs variances and budget to senior management.

Perform financial analysis to support operating decisions, such as cost-benefit, capex and business cases, strategic procurement, contract management, etc.

Analyze trucking cost and trends
Calculate and monitor key KPIs of ground operations activity
Assist with headcount analysis
Assist the ground operations team in building business case analysis (financial analysis and narratives)
Organize and lead monthly and quarterly cost reviews
Assist CFO in identifying and implementing major tactical improvement opportunities.

Identify, communicate and drive process improvement opportunities to enhance reports and provide efficiencies in the management reporting process.

Support Director, FP&A and Manager, Finance as needed
Contribute actively to the Greening strategy of the company and all other initiatives
Responsible for meeting all deadlines related to the CFO’s area of responsibilities and assisting the senior management in meeting company deadlines.

This area includes responsibility for special projects and tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance required.

7+ years’ experience in financial analysis and cost analysis with a demonstrated progression of increased responsibility.

Proven interpersonal leadership and collaboration skills with the ability to effectively supervise, coach and influence employees.

Basic accounting knowledge.

Advanced computer skills with high proficiency in Excel spreadsheet and financial modeling.

Experience with financial reporting and planning systems, SQL database modeling a plus
Knowledge of Clarity and JD Edwards or other consolidation and accounting system.

Airline, transportation, distribution, or manufacturing industry experience required.

Solid understanding of the accounting and financial impact of business decisions.

Highly organized individual with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness, who wants to learn and grow.

Demonstrated success in managing complex projects and relationships.

Adapts to change and manages risk well.

Proven project management skills, breaks down work into understandable segments.

Must be detailed oriented, a fast learner
Flexibility to work additional hours as required.

Excellent communication, influencing and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the company and with external parties.

Ability to promote cooperation and coordination between Accounting, Finance, Operations, and Corporate Divisions.
