At Aero, we are one team and we support each other, knowing together we are stronger as we build a business to reimagine the future of travel.ABOUT THIS ROLEThis is a full-time position that will report to the Director of Maintenance and eventually to the Manager of Maintenance Control. A Maintenance Controller will interact with the Director of Operations, the Chief Pilot, Systems Operations Control staff, the Company’s flight crews, and other departments as required. The responsibilities include the day-to-day aircraft maintenance needs of the Company involving a variety of maintenance tasks relating to the Company’s aircraft, engines, avionics systems, and appliances. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs) as it pertains to aircraft maintenance requirements. Good communication skills are required, and the successful candidate must be able to exhibit the values and culture of the company while working with different groups in a fast-paced/dynamic environment. All work will be performed in accordance with the company’s Continuous Airworthiness Maintenance Program (CAMP).Responsibilities* Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to read wiring diagrams and system schematics.* Able to provide guidance to maintenance and flight crews in the servicing, repairing, the performance of maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alteration of company aircraft and ensure the airworthiness of company aircraft via electronic means from the maintenance control center.* Maintenance Controller working with mechanics, sub-contractors, contractors, and vendors on aircraft, components or related parts of aircraft are responsible to perform work outlined on applicable work forms in accordance with the approved CAMP, GMM policies and procedures, manufacturer’s manuals, and FAA requirements.* Accurately ensure completed maintenance records are completed correctly.* Provide leadership and guidance required to perform assigned tasks and whenever necessary to train others.* Acts as a liaison on behalf of the DOM and maintenance department and communicates effectively with Operations, Flight Crews, Flight Mechanics, and/others as needed as part of the daily operation.* Acts as the primary point of contact for all mechanical discrepancies that may affect the daily operation of all Company aircraft.* Works with appropriate maintenance and supervisory personnel to determine whether discrepancies are deferrable under approved MEL, CDL, and NEF guidelines.* Coordinates with Company maintenance and/or contract maintenance providers to work aircraft discrepancies and planned maintenance events so that aircraft are back into service with minimal downtime.* Coordinate travel to and from AOG aircraft for flight mechanics/engineers;* Enters in all maintenance-related discrepancies are entered into the computer tracking systems as required.* Determines corrective actions based on aircraft service history, analysis, applicable General Maintenance Manual (GMM) guidance, and Company guidelines.* Promotes teamwork amongst maintenance personnel and flight crews.* Upholds safety and security procedures and awareness.* Conduct all tasks in a safe and efficient manner complying with all local, state, federal safety, health, regulatory requirements, company and OEM manuals (GMM, AMM, etc.), and with any internal policies and procedures identified by the company.* Other duties as assigned by the Director of Maintenance.REQUIREMENTS* Airframe and Powerplant Ratings required (Valid A&P license).* Valid driver’s license required.* 2 years experience performing aircraft maintenance on large aircraft (10 seats or more), preferably 3 to 5 years experience on Embraer 135/145/600 or Legacy aircraft.* 1-year maintenance control experience.* High school diploma/GED (Associates degree or higher preferred).* Travel may be required from time to time.* Must be able to read and understand technical manuals.* Must be able to work and interact with other mechanics and supervisors in a professional manner.* Must have a positive attitude towards productivity, quality of work, and safety.* Be proficient in Microsoft Office and able to learn operating systems the company utilizes.* Ability to effectively communicate, both verbal and written.* Must be physically capable to execute the duties of this position including Bending, squatting, kneeling, sitting, and standing for extended periods of time.* Frequent usage of hands, wrists, shoulders, and back is necessary.* Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.* Maintain all qualifications and authorizations for the position – Initial and yearly or bi-yearly recurrent training.Aero is an equal opportunity employer that is committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace.
