ControllerLA’s BEST Afterschool Enrichment ProgramReports to: President & CEOSupervises: Finance Associate and Administrative AssistantPosition Summary:The Controller reports directly to the CEO and is responsible for the overall fiscal compliance of the organization.
The Controller also guides the CEO in making financial and administrative decisions to improve the organization’s overall financial health.The Controller’s activities include:Maintain the organization’s accounting recordsCoordinate with external auditors to ensure the Organization is in compliance with GAAP and the terms and conditions of the Government GrantsDesign implement and monitor internal control policies and procedures to safeguard the organization’s assetsManage the overall budget and finances of the organizationReport and explain financials to management and the boardReview incoming grant agreements and contractsTrack and manage expenditures against grants in compliance with partners’ reporting requirementsEnsure proper insurance coverage for various grant opportunitiesMeet weekly with Development leadership to review incoming contributions and their termsPrepare financial reports/invoices to grantors and fundersOversee the operations of the finance and administrative departmentProvide support to Operations Directors in managing program budgetsMinimum Requirements:Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Business AdministrationMinimum of 5 years experience in public accountingExperience in non-profit finance or audit is requiredPossession of a Certified Public Accountant licenseLA’s BEST Afterschool Enrichment ProgramExplore.
