JUNIOR STAFF ACCOUNTANT

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES & CORE FUNCTIONS:

  • Good understanding and working knowledge of GAAP.
  • Ability to complete multiple duties with accuracy shifting from one to another with competing deadlines with little to no supervision.
  • Strong knowledge of General Ledger (GL)
  • Well-organized, detail-oriented, and able to handle a fast-paced work environment
  • Perform all daily, monthly, and other periodic accounting in an accurate and timely nature using one’s own discretion.
  • Perform daily cash reconciliation independently.
  • Understand the 3 way match system when preparing invoices
  • Independently prepare required documentation such as invoices, corresponding emails and other paperwork in order to provide support and control over GL accounts and to serve the purpose of internal and external audits.
  • Good understanding of Month-End Process, including but not limited to accruals and journal entries, maintain reconciliation schedule for all balance sheet accounts in established corporate formats and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Prepare and coordinate all bank reconciliations, ensuring all outstanding reconciling items are investigated and resolved accordingly with little or no supervision.
  • Assist Accounting Manager and Controller with month end adjustment journal entries
  • Ability to take on new tasks if needed to support the accounting department
  • Assist team members when needed

REQUIRED EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

Education & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting
  • Knowledge of GAAP
  • Knowledge of Accruals and Deferrals

Skills:

  • Knowledge of MAS 200 or other ERP application
  • Intermediate to Advance Excel Skills
  • Strong verbal and communication skills
  • Team player and willing to be cross trained
  • Strong organizational skills
