Position: Japanese Bilingual Accountant
Location: Los Angeles, CA
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Reporting to CFO
OVERVIEW:
The Accountant will prepare, report and review financial transactions and budgetary controls of the entertainment/IP firm.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO:
•           Prepare, post, verify, and record customer payments and transactions related to accounts receivable. Ensure the payments are matched to applicable invoices and agreements and upload the documents. Assist in preparation of Royalty reports.
•           Facilitate payment of vendors with wire transfer/ACH/check and review purchase orders. Assist in receiving and verifing expense reports; reconcile expense and other financial reports with account balances and other office records.
•           Prepare journal entries and maintain records and files and reconciliations of accounts.
•           Examine assigned financial records and statements for accuracy.
•           Analyze financial data, making recommendations as appropriate to improve accuracy, efficiency, and to reduce costs.
•           Inspect the budget and general ledger for assigned departments and accounts, ensuring that funds are available, and expenditures are assigned correctly.
•           Review and/or assist with preparation of financial statements and records provided to federal, state, and internal auditors and similar personnel.
•           Assist as needed with preparation of annual financial reports.
•           Assist in month-end and year-end close processes.
•           Perform other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS: 
•           Bilingual Japanese and English skills (read/write/speak).
•           Associate degree in Accounting and 3+ years of related experience required.
•           Working knowledge of GAAP and understanding of an ability to prepare journal entries.
•           Proficient in QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
