INNOVATION FINANCE SPECIALIST NEW YORK, NY Project Description: The Client’s Finance business partner roles provide valuable guidance and support to the organization.

Business partners own the performance agenda including delivery of all financial metrics and ensuring a robust control and risk management environment.

The Innovation Finance role is a core component of the teams responsible for developing and renovating the Client’s products.

The Client brings to bear global finance processes, standards, teams, systems, and data to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

Support business teams and functions to make financially sound decisions on innovations and renovations through the provision of financial / commercial insights within an effective control environment.

Work as a key member of the project team to develop and influence project financials, and their impact to the business.

Develop the understanding of product P& Ls and key product performance drivers with partners (coordinating with the above functions to incorporate inputs into the P& L).

Deliver complete P& Ls (multi-year) as well as financial insights and risk identification for innovation and renovation products going through the Innovation/Renovation Gate (The Client’s governance) process.

Support the decision-making process (e.G., the Innovation Project Lead from Marketing) through scenario-building, and critical review of P& L inputs received from various members of the Innovation/Renovation project team (including Commercial Innovation, Product Costing, Marketing and Sales).

Find opportunities to strengthen innovation profitability or reduce financial risk in Innovations/renovations.

Present financials to senior team members to ensure financial implications of the product are understood and gain financial alignment as part of the gate process.

Support Monthly Business Reviews by facilitating key reporting metrics regarding product performance.

Find opportunities to drive greater efficiency and effectiveness of innovation finance activities and lead improvements through to implementation.

Ad hoc reporting to support senior leadership/executive engagement about innovation and brand change.

Required Skills: Bachelor’s Degree with relevant professional qualification preferred (CA/ACCA/CIMA/CPA/MBA).

2 years of experience in a global FMCG or similar dynamic operating environment and demonstrating commercial competence.

Finance analytical skills, high attention to detail (product/brand performance management experience not required).

Presentation skills, ability to optimally engage and influence a variety of finance and non-finance partners.

Business partnering skills: the courage to challenge and be an equal partner on project team, balanced with the need to uphold a trusting, open relationship with Innovation and Supply Leads.

Ability to balance multiple projects in parallel, ability to prioritize and deliver quality work outputs under pressure.

This 6 month position starts ASAP.

Can be remote during length of assignment, but if converted direct employee, will have to report onsite to CT or NY office.
