Hanmi Bank: Senior Credit Risk Analyst

SUMMARYThe is responsible for conducting the more complex credit analyses including gathering, analyzing and interpreting credit information on prospective customers.

Monitors loan portfolios in order to maximize credit quality and minimize risk and potential loss.

Maintains control over the credit standings of accounts and furnishes information relative to credit inquiries, as appropriate.Ensures compliance with established Bank policies and procedures.

Demonstrates knowledge of, adherence to, monitoring and responsibility for compliance with state and federal regulations and laws as they pertain to this position including but not limited to the following: GLBA (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act), Regulation Z (Truth in Lending Act), Regulation DD (Truth in Savings Act) Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), Dodd–Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act (Dodd Frank Act), Elder Abuse Laws, Bank Secrecy Act in conjunction with the USA PATRIOT Act, Anti-Money Laundering and Customer Information Program, Right to Financial Privacy Act (state and federal) and Community Reinvestment Act.ESSENTIAL DUTIES1.Uses proprietary software and Excel to perform regular loss estimation calculations; 2.Reviews ALLL models and procedures, recommending enhancements, and implementing improvements to the process; 3.Responsible for Stress Testing Models4.Develops models for new accounting requirements; 5.Measures and documenting the historic performance of quantitative ALLL models; 6.Keeps abreast of state of the art credit loss estimation techniques; 7.Works with technology specialists to ensure the ALLL reports are accurate; 8.Gathers economic data used in the ALLL; 9.Conducts peer analyses; 10.Documents all components of the ALLL; 11.Performs SOX controls; 12.Performs specialprojects as required by senior management:13.Obtains data to perform portfolio concentration analysis and assist in the preparation on the monthly allowance for loan and lease loss (ALLL).14.Reviews the report/data that credit risk model analyst generated; Loan Maturity List, Daily Delinquency, FHLB Pledged Loan list update15.Provides guidance on credit dispute process on need basis16.Assists in the preparation of any reports required from Credit Administration.17.May train, delegate and oversee the work of coworkers who perform similar duties.18.Treats people with respect; keeps commitments;inspires the trust of others; works ethically and with integrity; upholds organizational values; accepts responsibility for own actions.19.Demonstrates knowledge of and adherence to EEO policy; shows respect and sensitivity for cultural differences; educates others on the value of diversity; promotes working environment free of harassment of any type; builds a diverse workforce and supports affirmative action.20.Follows policies and procedures; completes tasks correctly and on time; supports the company’s goals and values.21.Performs the position safely, without endangering the health or safety to themselves or others and will be expected to report potentially unsafe conditions.

Bachelor’s degree preferred with an emphasis in Finance, Accounting or Economics; High School Diploma and5 or more years of related experience and/or training.

Work related experience must consist of a credit analysis or other credit related background.

Educational experience, through in-house training sessions, formal school or financial industry related curriculum, should be business or financial industry related.

Strong problem solving, analytical and decision making skills.

Able to handle multiple transactions at once and work well in a team-oriented environment Strong customer service skills, relationship development and management skills Basic skills in computer terminal and personal computer operation; mainframe computer system; word processing and spreadsheet software programs.

Intermediate typing skills to meet production needs of the position.

Basic math skills; ability to calculate interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages; balance accounts; add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals; locate routine mathematical errors; compute rate, ratio andpercent, including the drafting and interpretation of bar graphs.

Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions and instruct others, train personnel, write reports, correspondence and procedures, and speak clearly to customers and employees.

Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.

Ability to work with no supervision while performing duties.
