Grants Accountant

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Grants Accountant in Los Angeles, CA.

Key Tasks:

  • Grants Accountant will be responsible for grants and contract billing and collections
  • Responsible for grants and contract financial reporting to funder and management
  • Prepare and input journal entries
  • Prepare and maintain prepaid expense and deferred revenue schedules
  • As a Grants Accountant, you will prepare general ledger account analyses as required
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly variance analyses as required
  • Assist the CFO and Director of Fiscal Management with special projects and research as required

Job Requirements:

REQUIREMENTS:

  • College degree in accounting preferred
  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
  • Minimum 3 years of government grant billing experience
  • Strong accounting skills and knowledge of GAAP
  • MS Office – Advance Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong initiative, problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of fund accounting and cost allocation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Willingness to work beyond a minimum 7.0-hour workday to ensure project completion
  • Experience with Abila MIP-fund accounting software preferred
  • Nonprofit experience preferred
