Role Overview

InStride is looking for an experienced Financial Operations Senior Manager (FinOps Sr.

Manager) to lead system and process buildouts and simplifications across the finance department to enable scalable business growth and to advance operational excellence.

The FinOps Sr.

Manager will drive the successful design, evaluation, development, testing implementation, and documentation of financial systems, processes, and controls to bring maximum value to InStride and its partners.

This includes identifying ways to increase efficiency, offering continuous improvement recommendations, and developing and delivering training to staff.

We are seeking a candidate who can elevate the team by proactively identifying risks and optimizing our systems environment to ensure relevant data and analysis is readily available to Finance and leadership.

The FinOps Sr.

Manager will engage with internal teams and third parties to ensure functionality and scalability are aligned with company strategy.

The role is the go-to system expert for both super users and end-users and will manage third-party relationships to ensure project success.

This position will report to the InStride Controller.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, implement, modify, and maintain the operational infrastructure and design of global financial systems, processes, and controls
  • Partner with other stakeholders to design, implement, and manage critical software integrations between key financial applications and other critical software tools
  • Proactively identify and troubleshoot system, data, and process needs and issues (monthly, quarterly, annually) and take appropriate action to ensure scalable, controlled, and auditable end to end processes
  • Develop project plans specifying goals, strategy, tools, staffing, suppliers, resources, scheduling, and identification of risks for each phase of a project
  • Collaborate with InStride teams and third parties to ensure all finance systems are optimized to deliver value to InStride and its partners (customers, suppliers, staff, etc.)
  • Manage third-party relationships to ensure project success within the allotted budget and timeline
  • Provide project management and subject-matter expertise for financial operations, including the development and management of Standard Operating Procedures, training documents, and user training and support
  • Apply knowledge and understanding of financial and accounting (US GAAP) principles to our systems and business infrastructure and processes to ensure compliant and scalable operations
  • Complete special requests and ad-hoc projects, as needed

Ideal Profile

  • 5+ years of relevant experience in business consulting, accounting, finance, or information technology
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, information technology, or a similar field, with CPA or MBA being a plus
  • Acuity of accounting and finance processes and applications, including but not limited to Quote-to-Cash, Procure-to-Pay, Record-to-Report, expense reporting, audit, taxation, and planning and analysis
  • Hands-on implementation or user experience with some or all of the following finance or operational systems, or similar applications, is preferred: NetSuite, Tableau, Salesforce, Marketo, Jira
  • Experience working on Agile projects, defining business requirements, tracking and resolving issues, conducting user acceptance testing, and delivering training and support
  • A track record of collaborating and leading a strategic or operationally sophisticated projects working with cross-functional teams at all levels
  • Able to effectively prioritize, meet established goals, and perform in a fast and dynamic environment
  • Able to maintain confidentiality of information and exercise good judgment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
  • Adaptable and comfortable with ambiguity in a growing and flexible company
  • Meticulous attention to detail and excellent critical thinking
  • A strong sense of ownership and accountability
