Financial Controller

Our client, a fast-growing health-conscious food & beverage company in downtown Los Angeles is looking to add a strong hands-on controller to their team. This is a great opportunity to be an integral part of the management team for a CPG startup that has experienced triple-digit growth over the last several months and is apart of an industry that is growing exponentially each year.

The Controller will be instrumental to the company’s success and will be responsible for managing and developing the company’s accounting practice. The Controller will lead accounting and financial reporting for the business, including month-end close, AP, inventory reconciliation, audit, and day to day accounting operations. This role reports to the COO.

Responsibilities:

  • Total ownership of month ends close, including analyzing adequacy of accruals, organizing a depositing journal entry, and preparing month end financial
  • Lead and improve the Accounts Payable
  • Oversee and organize tax reporting to various state
  • Manage variance analysis versus budget and
  • Assist in building annual budget and quarterly
  • Resource for GAAP knowledge of accounting for Cash, Prepaids, A/R, Fixed Assets, Inventory, A/P, Accrued Expenses, Debt, and
  • Coordinate with internal departments including inventory planning, marketing, creative, tech, and customer
  • Create and document Internal controls
  • Manage annual audit
  • Build positive and effective relationships with partners, peers, and
  • Analyze sales, gross margin, inventory trends, and expenses to help drive improvements in the business.

Qualifications:

  • Experience with QuickBooks, NetSuite or related accounting software for E-commerce and
  • Familiarity with Bill.com, Shopify, 3PL or related a definite
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data in
  • Experience migrating to ERP solutions a
