A Financial Aid Officer is responsible for speaking to prospective students and providing information (Prelims) regarding the options for obtaining financial aid, the process for requesting financial aid, and the eligibility requirements for receiving and maintaining aid, while utilizing policies and procedures set forth by the Institution, DOE, ACCET, BPPVE, and any other governmental agency, as required. This position is often the first point of contact for prospective students and parents inquiring about options to pay for their education. A Financial Aid Officer’s priority is in delivering optimum customer service while providing information on all available options based on eligibility and most beneficial for the student.
Job Requirements:
Speaks with prospective students to review costs, financial aid eligibility requirements, and tuition gap financing options
Explains the financial aid process, required forms, the student’s rights and responsibilities for receiving and maintaining financial aid by providing information and answering questions
Obtains prospective student’s information to calculate estimated financial aid award, per federal, state, and institutional rules and regulations
Provide continuous interaction with the prospective student and parent to follow up on missing or deficient information as well as status updates on their FA application process
Provides information to the student in an accurate, timely, professional, and courteous manner
Continuous awareness and accountability of the student’s progress until FA submission at the Campus level
Attend mandatory training sessions to stay updated with policy or regulation change
Input updated student’s information in the institution’s SIS system
Responds professionally and researches to resolve problems related to operations handled by the department
Assists in audits and perform other job related duties, as assigned
