Financial Accountant

nnStudio City | SC PXL is looking for a highly motivated Financial Accountant will report to and assist the VP of Business & Finance in managing the company’s managerial accounting and financial management responsibilities across 4 divisions under its holding’s organization.

nn nn n nn nn n nn nn RESPONSIBILITIES nn nn  nn Assist in aspects of accounting operations, overseeing all transactions related to general ledger, receivables, payables, payroll, and financial reporting.

Perform internal audits in all aspects of accounting areas.

Identify issues resulting from posting invoices, general ledger transactions and subsequent resolution for correction.

Handle bank reconciliation for all divisions applying critical audit review of exceptions resulting from unreconciled or mismatch data between bank cleared transactions and data in the internal accounting system.

Define process rules and monitor Intercompany standards.

Reconcile intercompany account balances and proactively resolve intercompany imbalances during month end review and audit.

Ensure adherence to intercompany accounting policy through scrutiny of requests, accurate coding provision and approvals for all divisions.

Support and handle intercompany issues from the team or inquiries from senior management.

Coordinate monthly closing of the books for each division with the team.

Matching the balances of intercompany receivables and intercompany payables at month end and making sure that there are no differences on consolidation level.

Assist in training and guidance to the staff on intercompany transactions for achievement of desired result using key metrics.

Prepare and analyze monthly quarterly and annual statements (balance sheets and income statements, with respect to profits, trend, costs and compliance with budgets for each division.

Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly and annual holdings finance consolidated financial statements of 4 divisions for senior management presentation and bank reporting.

Maintain all necessary accounting policies and systems, including general ledger and financial reporting.

Ensuring that records are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

Assisting senior management in financial planning and results management.

Work with divisional heads and budget team members to understand revenue and cost drivers and define appropriate reports for tracking.

Coordinate and review tax payments prepared by external CPA.

Coordinate with external CPA all tax planning and compliance with all required federal, state, local, payroll, property, and other applicable taxes.

Oversee any contracted accounting bookkeeper.

Assist in the continuous development of the accounting department as the company grows.

Other finance and administrative duties as required.

nn n nn nn SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS nn nn n nn Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business.

CPA and/or CMA preferred but not required.

3-5 years of managerial accounting and financial accounting experience in the entertainment industry.

Experience in production entertainment business with activity-based project costing.

Solid knowledge and applied experience in Accounting theories and GAAP.

Strong organizational and analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.

Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines.

Ability to work without direct supervision, and efficiently manage tasks and time.

Merger and acquisition finance experience.

Ability to clearly articulate and communicate financial information to company leaders and audiences that do not have an extensive accounting background.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office products and intermediate to advanced Excel skills Proven experience in QuickBooks and project cost systems.
