Job Purpose:

The Finance Associate will report directly to the Managing Principals and the Chief Accounting Officer and will oversee all aspects of financing including the closing process, monitoring and participating in the execution of the business plan, and investor and internal reporting. The Finance Associate will also work with the Managing Principals and the Chief Accounting Officer on special projects and business development as needed including new investment structures (Funds, JVs, etc.), adjustments to the overall business plan, implementing internal policies and procedures, and entrance into new markets.

Essential Functions:

  • Capital/Financing:
    • Maintains and develops relationships with lenders and equity partners
    • Oversees loan procurement and closing process for refinances and acquisition loans
    • Makes recommendations regarding the credit facility and coordinates implementation of Managing Principals decisions
    • Assists Managing Principals with company level analysis for business strategy adjustments and new business development
  • Investor Reporting:
    • Assists in investor reporting as needed with valuations, projections, and waterfall calculations
  • Corporate Model:
    • Creates and maintains corporate business model
  • In addition to specific responsibilities above:
    • Assists with ad-hoc/special projects as needed.
    • Responsible for day-to-day communications with Supervisor and ensuring all reporting and tasks are completed on time.
    • Maintains regular and consistent attendance according to required work schedule decided by the Company.
    • Represents the Company in a professional manner at all times.

  • Advanced/Expert proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and finance concepts (i.e., IRR, preferred return, waterfalls, etc.)

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, or related field of study
  • 3-5 years prior real estate industry work experience in a finance, investment, or valuation role
