Robert Half Finance is reviewing candidates for a renowned non profit organization for an ambitious, determined EVP of Finance & Operations. The organization’s mission is focused around youth outreach and is headquartered in Los Angeles with chapters across the country. The EVP plans and directs all finance functions while also overseeing operations and HR for the organization. The EVP position is a full-time opportunity in the Los Angeles, California region.

Your responsibilities

– Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is on time

– Work closely with executive team and partners to facilitate efficient and effective firm-wide operation

– Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis

– Comfortable handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties

– Guide all operations of the finance department, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

– Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis

– Manage daily cash and prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals

– Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations

– Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed

– Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

– Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports

– Oversee legal situations as they arise

– Oversee Risk Management

– Oversee IT and systems and optimization opportunities as necessary

Job Requirements:

– Expertise in Prepare Financial Statements

– Comprehensive knowledge of month end closings

– Proficiency in Company Internal Control

– Excellent analytical, quantitative and social skills

– Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

– 15+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as an executive preferred

– Attention to detail and proven ability to follow standard procedures is a requirement

– Strong communication and social skills

– Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines

– Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired

– BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

– Takes action on items beyond formal job responsibilities

– Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus

– Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds

– CPA or MBA preferred
