Director of Accounting & Finance

Come join our Accounting Department as a Director of Accounting and Finance. This management level position will be based at our corporate office in West Los Angeles, and will manage a team of Accounting Managers in operational accounting. Under the guidance of the Vice President of Finance, Corporate Controller, the Director of Accounting will:

  • Support organization financial objectives by providing financial analyses and recommendations and directing staff.
  • Develop accounting organizational strategies by contributing accounting and financial information, analysis and recommendations for strategic thinking and direction, and establishing functional objectives in line with organizational objectives.
  • Establish accounting operational strategies by evaluating trends, establishing critical measurements, determining production, productivity, quality, and customer-service strategies, designing systems, accumulating resources, resolving problems, and implementing change.
  • Provide financial projections by coordinating budget/forecast preparation, collecting, analyzing, consolidating financial information, and advising departments on the collection and analysis of data.
  • Manage and inspire accounting department employees; responsible for day-to-day supervision and leadership.
  • Create, document, and maintain all accounting workflow processes, procedures, and policies.
  • Complete performance evaluations, mentor staff, provide training, and interview and hire staff.
  • Prepare and/or review financial statements and analysis for market, region, consolidated, and partnership operations.
  • Follow and comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
  • Record and research all financial information for analysis.
  • Prepare and provide monthly, quarterly, and annual budgets and related analytical commentary for review with the operations team.
  • Document and interpret complicated financial information for directors, senior directors, executives, and C-Suite executives.
  • Act as liaison between Accounting Managers and internal and external audit teams to insure reconciliations and financial analysis accurately support financial statement accounts.
  • Participate in and/or lead projects, and complete other tasks as assigned by upper management.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience as a Director of Accounting with direct reports.
  • Accounting Management experience.
  • Solid knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred.
