Position Summary

Incumbent will regionally drive key finance initiatives, operational strategy, and monitor control systems designed to preserve company assets and report accurate financial results.

Responsible for monitoring budgets and financials for both small cell and fiber projects occurring within the region.

Additionally, communicating financial and business impacts to the regional leadership on an ongoing basis.

Must also ensure that Crown Castle’s financial tracking and reporting standards and procedures are properly understood and used in the Business Unit.

Essential Job Functions

• Oversee performance of Network project portfolio for the assigned region.

Ensure projects reflect up-to-date budgets and meets all financial controls requirements.

Analyze the projected spend and expected completion dates to forecast capital outlay for the region and for the business.

• Partner with Network FP&A function to provide outlook on capital budget adherence and revenue commencement for the regional portfolio of projects.

• Provide Regional leadership overview of revenue, expense, and direct margin.

• Analyze the financial performance of the given region by market and by product type for both cumulative and incremental investments.

Track capital returns and yields.

• Collaborate with regional sales leadership to formulate sales strategies and provide deal level approvals for financial soundness based on Commitment Authority.

• Collaborate with Network Business Performance function and Corporate finance functions to analyze, identify and rectify systematic issues for the Network Business.

• Contributes actively to the evolution and execution of the Network’s strategic and business plans, providing strategic input and leadership to support the Network’s growth objectives and proactively address challenges.

• Partners with and supports the business on ad hoc analysis to support operational and strategic initiatives of the business.

• In conjunction with the Corporate IT and Process Improvement functions, help to identify and ensure the implementation of systems and software to provide critical financial and operational information, including automating processes to increase efficiency where applicable.

• Provides strong leadership in the recruitment, training and development of top-quality financial talent to ensure the finance organization has a high level of performance and productivity.

Instills a culture that emphasizes accountability and transparency among the finance team and within Network as a whole.

Manages, mentors and supervises direct reports through active participation in performance management and talent planning and development.

• Serves as a spokesperson to Network employees to communicate the Company’s business model, strategy and operational and financial objectives, including enhancing the Network’s financial acumen and decision-making competencies through training and educational efforts.

• Ensures compliance with the internal controls in place to comply with GAAP and applicable federal, state and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.

• Serves as a Network cross-functional partner that maintains continuous lines of communication throughout the business unit, keeping the Network senior leadership team informed of all critical issues (opportunities / threats / challenges).

Education/Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics or equivalent applicable experience preferred

• MBA preferred

Experience/Minimum Requirements

• Minimum of eight (8) years of combined experience in progressively responsible finance or operational leadership roles

Reports to: Vice President Network Finance

Title(s) of direct reports (if applicable):  Manager Financial Planning & Analysis

Working Conditions: Works in a normal office setting with no exposure to adverse environmental conditions.  This position requires travel and working with a distributed team.
