Counsel – Cbre Investment Management

JOB SUMMARYThis attorney will assist in the legal, transactional and regulatory issues for the firm’s businesses in the Americas.

This attorney will report to the General Counsel and Head of Operations Americas.

The position will be located in Los Angeles, Dallas or New York.

By necessity, a strong and close working relationship will exist between the candidate and the senior management of the U.S.

as well as the global business, as necessary.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESAssisting with legal matters for the Direct Real Estate, Credit and Listed Real Assets businesses in the Americas, including advising and negotiating on any corporate or real estate transactional matters, supervising outside counsel and overseeing the structuring of investment programs such as commingled funds and separate accounts (including negotiations with investors and clients), labor & employment, regulatory,litigation, corporate governance, fund-level compliance and risk management matters; Assisting with the strategic management and administration of the Americas compliance program, including developing and implementing policies and procedures, monitoring the effectiveness of controls and performing compliance review functions.Working directly with the senior management and leaders of the dedicated teams to provide advice on the implementation of strategic and tactical business plans and objectives.Responsibility for developing and implementing best practices and process improvements and coordinating between business units and overseas operations.Management of litigation brought by and against the business and its funds and monitoring outside counsel retained for matters; andResponsibility for legal planning, working with outside counsels and monitoring transactional execution at the investment level.OTHER SKILLS and/or ABILITIESKnowledge of regulatory requirements and structuring applicable to the real estate investment management or private equity business and promotion of investment products is also preferred.The successful candidate will be:A practical-minded business attorney who is a team player, enthusiastic, energetic, organized, pro-active, responsive and service-driven.Able to build strong personal relationships with management, have a ” Can do” attitude and be able to work to short deadlines when required.About CBRE Investment Management:CBRE Investment Management is a leading global real assets investment management firm with $133.1 billion in assets under management as of September 30, 2021, operating in more than 30 offices and 20 countries around the world.
